Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students in grades 6-12 with a variety of options to apply academic knowledge and earn the technical skills necessary for the workplace of the 21st century.
The instructional program, along with opportunities for industry credentialing, helps students prepare to be college and career-ready. Selected courses offer a cooperative education option where students can apply classroom knowledge in part-time or paid employment and receive graduation credit.
Students can choose courses in business and information technology, family and consumer sciences, health and medical sciences, JROTC, marketing, technology education, and trade and industrial education.

GW/ACPS Academy of Health Sciences
The Academy of Health Sciences prepares students for employment related to medicine, nursing, dentistry, and other medically supportive services. Health and medical science courses prepare students with basic skills for employment in nursing homes, clinics, medical and dental offices, hospitals, homes, and certain public health settings. Academy of Health Sciences pathways include:

Academy of Finance
The Academy of Finance (AOF) is part of the Business & Information Technology program. It is organized as a school within a school that prepares students for post-secondary education and careers through academic learning within a theme-based curriculum centered around the financial services industry. Upon completion students will receive a National Academy Foundation Certificate of Financial Studies. Academy of Finance courses include:

Business & Information Technology
The Business & Information Technology program is an intensive preparation for business and information technology careers. Courses enable students to investigate opportunities in business, prepare for entry and advancement on-the-job, develop management skills, and identify further education and training necessary within a chosen career cluster. The curriculum for Business & Information Technology not only meets current technological advances in computer applications, systems, and communications but also presents opportunities to learn about economics and finance, accounting, law, and management. Students have the opportunity to apply the skills learned by participating or observing in a variety of health care settings.

JROTC
The JROTC program prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. The Leadership Education and Training (LET) program consists of four years of instruction with a maximum of 108 core hours and 72 optional hours per year. One (1) credit is awarded for each academic year. Core courses include Techniques of Communications, Leadership Lab, Map Reading, History, Citizenship, Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention, and Cadet Challenge (Physical Training).
Marketing
Marketing prepares students for careers in the processes of buying and selling goods and services. Marketing courses prepare students for entry-level positions and/or continued education in a variety of careers that require knowledge of communications, economics, and psychology as well as techniques in sales, promotion, and management. Online Summer Bridge
Summer Bridge for 2021 will run Tuesday-Friday, July 6-16. The program will be 100% virtual again this year.
Students will participate in three sessions each day from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The sessions will focus on:
Recordings of the online sessions from Summer 2020 and 2021 will be available for students through their GW Blackboard account.
Students must complete their application, claim their NET ID, and set up their GW-Blackboard account in order to view the session and participate in Summer Bridge.
