Don't see a club that meets your needs? If you would like to start a club at Alexandria City High School, you must complete the following:
- Find an Alexandria City High School staff sponsor that is willing to supervise all club meetings.
- Have the sponsor fill out the Club Application Form and submit it for club review and activation. The club sponsor will receive an email from Mr. Matthews when the club is approved.
Does your club or organization wish to sponsor a fundraiser? Have your sponsor fill out the Fundraising Request Form. This form must be submitted at least two weeks before a fundraising activity. Please see Mr. Matthews in the Athletic Office for further details.
If your organization wants to hold any type of event at ACHS, the event must be approved by Mr. Matthews and a Building Use Form must be completed by the sponsor. These major activities should be submitted at least one month prior to the event.

The American Rocketry Challenge or ARC, the world’s largest student rocket competition, engages middle and high school students in model rocketry. The challenge provides a yearlong opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience by designing, building, testing, and launching model rockets to meet rigorous requirements. The program fosters leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills as students deepen their interest and passion for aerospace and STEM.

Students in the Do You Club will meet with young adult peer advocates, a group of local college students, who work with the City of Alexandria's Sexual Assault Center and Domestic Violence Program, the Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy, and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria to deliver peer-to-peer prevention programming. A supervisor from the Sexual Assault Center will be present at all club meetings to support the peer advocates.
The young adult peer advocates (YAPAs) will lead students through workshops from the DO
YOU curriculum. Students will each create their own 'zine through coloring, collaging, and/or journaling, as they discuss each session's topic and participate in interactive activities led by the YAPAs. The activities and discussions in the workshops are designed to build resilience in youth by helping students build compassion, learn to model fairness and equity, feel valued by their community, adapt media literacy tools to critically analyze and deconstruct messaging, learn about healthy sexuality, and practice communication skills.

We are a FIRST Robotics Competition team, dedicated to spreading STEM in our community and inspiring students of all ages to pursue STEM. Thanks to our No Cuts, No Fees, No Experience Required policy, all students can join, and we welcome all to explore the world of engineering with us and help us run a nonprofit. At our meetings we build, electrify, and code 100+ pound robots that perform tasks to earn points by manipulating balls, rings, disks, and cubes based on a new game released each year. We then compete with our robot in events in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We have a strong presence in our community through our summer camps and our participation in local community events to help kids of all ages explore STEM and engineering.

The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria’s Titans 4 Scholars campaign is an amazing philanthropic leadership opportunity for Alexandria City High School Juniors. The campaign is an eight-week fundraising challenge where students utilize many life skills such as communication, management, and presentation skills to raise funds and awareness for SFA’s mission of making college dreams a reality.
The goal is for students to raise $12,000 as a group. This will fund a scholarship for all four years of college and demonstrate the peer support of Titans going to college. The campaign will be implemented from January-March. The students will be selected in September and meet twice a month through December to discuss ways to raise the funds to meet the goal of a four-year scholarship. During the campaign, meetings will be weekly to identify any challenges and track progress. It is our plan to meet after school on Mondays.
The SFA Office will work with the students to brainstorm ideas, provide templates for email outreach, set up a Giving Page, and assist in designing peer to peer fundraising pages.
In recognition of their efforts, the members of the Titans 4 Scholars will be invited to the
Annual SFA Gala.
