Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is one of the largest student organizations in the country with over 250,000 members. It is a co-curricular activity combining business education and our organization within the classroom. This organization allows students to become contributing members of the community. As business leaders, students will learn how to apply their classroom instruction in business practices and procedures to leadership development activities, competitive event experiences, while giving back to their community. FBLA provides vocational activities, fun experiences, with opportunities to develop leadership skills integral to the organization. Just show up, meet new people, and have fun! |

| Greening Earth |
I intend to guide students and their families towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Some activities include creating minute-long educational videos that a person of any age can implement or learn from, preparing a daily sustainability tip to be presented at our SEAL lessons, starting a compost program with the garden club, and contacting local representatives to pass socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable policies and spread awareness. |

Volunteer opportunities in the Alexandria Community, such as Meals On Wheels, Art on the Avenue, Tree Lightings in Old Town/Del Ray, Turkey Trot, Halloween Parade in Del Ray. Members receive points for each event that they participate in. Seniors receive a cord for graduation if they earn enough points. Affiliated with the Alexandria Kiwanis Club; the Kiwanis award scholarship money to active Key Club graduating seniors each year. Dues are $15/year; Key Club t-shirts $10. |

SELAH is a faith-based organization dedicated to achieving racial reconciliation. The name SELAH, derives from Psalms 24:6, which means “to pause.” Our pause is to take a step back and reflect on the injustice and hurt experienced by oppressed communities. SELAH encourages the normalization of uncomfortable discussions concerning racism, racial reconciliation, peace, and mental health, through the greatest commandment that is expressed by Jesus, which is to love thy neighbor as thyself (Mark 12:31). SELAH will hold virtual discussions to bond with people of all backgrounds, hold events in which these discussions are continued, educate members on historical information not taught at schools, mental health and stress reliever activities, and give back to the community such as feeding the homeless and taking tours in the Alexandria community to educate one another on the history of the West vs East side of Alexandria. |
