School Counseling
Alexandria City HS School Counseling Department
Vision
Alexandria City High School students have the knowledge, skills, experiences and attitudes they need to live balanced, fulfilling and rewarding lives. Our students are confident, courageous, collaborative and resilient. They believe in their ability to make a positive difference in the world and have well-established networks of support that they readily use to further their aspirations and advocate for others. Our students are passionate learners who demonstrate ethical decision-making and social responsibility while acknowledging and valuing differences as well as universal commonalities.
Mission
All Alexandria City High School students benefit from a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program that addresses the individual and collective needs of our diverse student population. By forging relationships and establishing networks of support throughout the community, school counselors ensure that all students get what they need to reach their highest potential, develop into confident and well-prepared citizens and have viable post-secondary options. The school counseling department collaborates with other educators and stakeholders to advocate for equity, access and success for each and every student.
